Hubie McGinley: Creating His Ideal Life Personally & Professionally
It’s rare to find someone who has built the exact life that he desires, personally and professionally. Hubie McGinley has built a career that he loves and a family that fuels his passions. Since the age of 12, Hubie has known that he wanted to be a trial attorney. From the time of his first job at a Philadelphia Courthouse where his uncle was a judge, he found trials fascinating. The fire was ignited and the drive started. Fast forward to 8th grade where Hubie then came in 2nd in a speech competition. Coming in second was not quite good enough so McGinley immediately joined the Speech and Debate team during high school, where he competed most weekends at speech and debate tournaments and went to speech and debate camps during the summer to sharpen his skills. It was during this time that Hubie learned the art of research and extemporaneous speech. This started his path forward as a trial attorney, where today he is President-Elect of the American Board of Trial Attorneys (ABOTA) for the Palm Beach County Chapter.
After receiving his B.A. from Notre Dame, he graduated Cum Laude with his J.D. also from Notre Dame. From there, Hubie has balanced his time between the love of his family and the love of his profession. Together with his wife, Lori, they have raised four children, Claire, Caroline, Hugh and Jack. Spending time with his wife and kids has always been important to Hubie. Whether it was watching his kids play sports or having annual family trips to appreciate the history and culture of Europe, enjoy the skiing in Colorado, or scuba diving in Grand Cayman, McGinley has always put family first and still found the passion and drive for his career.
Having worked with Steve Schwed earlier in his career, McGinley was excited by the opportunity presented in 2012 to be a partner in Schwed, Adams, Sobel & McGinley. McGinley gets to do what he loves and has personally tried over 100 cases to verdict and he has successfully resolved over twenty-five million in personal injury claims since joining the firm.
