Paul Shalhoub: Making His Mark Across All Walks of Life

Paul Shalhoub is no stranger to hard work. It seems the busier he is the better he performs. Recently hired at Schwed, Adams, Sobel & McGinley, Paul didn’t immediately gravitate towards the field of Law although his dad, aunt and uncles are all lawyers. Out of college, he went into real estate prior to the bubble bursting; when he started to see the writing on the wall in 2006, Shalhoub determined that he needed to find another career, one where he is able to really help people. Upon graduating from New England School of Law in 2010, Shalhoub was given some sage advice – if you want to go into personal injury and litigation, first get your feet wet in Insurance Defense so that’s what he did coupled with Construction Law. In doing so, Paul pushed himself to be one of the best, becoming AV Preeminent Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and his peers; according to Lawyers.com, “AV Preeminent is a significant rating accomplishment a testament to the fact that a lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence.” Paul is also a Super Lawyer Rising Star for 2016-17, where only 2.5% of attorneys are selected for the state of Florida.

Most people would be happy with these accomplishments but Shalhoub is not most people. He also co-owns a Catering Business with his father called Smokin’ Gator BBQ and recently bought a mobile food truck in order to take their recipes to local breweries and other South Florida attractions. This father/son barbeque team is a force to be reckoned with as they continue to develop their offerings.

Being an attorney and running your own business is a huge accomplishment, but Shalhoub, who has been volunteering since the age of 10 for the town of Lake Clarke Shores, recently was elected to the City Council. Prior to that, he was on the Lake Clarke Shores Code Enforcement Board as Vice Chair. To round out his resume, Paul does pro bono Guardianship Work for Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County.

While many might say that Shalhoub has a full life, his personal life is the real driver. Having married in 2016, Paul and his wife, Danielle, just had their first daughter in October 2017. Paul is passionate about giving back and also leaving a legacy for his family. Following the words of Jim Rohn, “All good men and women must take responsibility to create legacies that will take the next generation to a level we could only imagine.”
