Tavis Souder, Litigation Associate


Tavis is an experienced trial lawyer who specializes in personal injury litigation. Tavis began his career as an Assistant State Attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit. During his time as a prosecutor Tavis tried over 50 cases to verdict for crimes ranging from second degree misdemeanors to first degree felonies. He also had the privilege to serve in the Major Crimes – Traffic Homicide Unit where he prosecuted individuals charged with Vehicular Homicide and DUI-Manslaughter.

After leaving the State Attorney’s Office Tavis accepted a position as in-house counsel at Allstate Insurance Company. As in-house counsel Tavis was responsible for defending negligence actions for claims brought against Allstate or Allstate insureds. During his time there Tavis was able to achieve several successful defense verdicts on behalf of his clients at trial. Joining Schwed Law in 2014, Tavis uses the knowledge and experience he has acquired to aggressively represent clients who have been injured as the result of the negligence of others.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Florida State College of Law.

Tavis is a native Floridian born and lives with his wife in Jupiter, Florida.
